It’s That Time of Year – Let’s Talk About Upper Respiratory Infections (URIs)!
As the seasons change, we want to remind everyone about URIs, which are more common in Spring and Fall—similar to kids catching colds when school’s back in session!
Not all URIs are “kennel cough,” and while your pups are vaccinated for Bordetella, that doesn’t cover every type of upper respiratory infection.
Here’s what you need to know:
How You Can Help
If you notice your pup is feeling off, has a cough, or a sniffle, please keep them home until symptoms resolve. This small step can make a big difference in helping reduce the spread. Remember, only your vet can confirm true Bordetella (often called “kennel cough”). While we’ve had no confirmed cases of kennel cough, we have seen a few pups and staff members with coughs and sneezes.
Our Commitment to Cleanliness
We’re dedicated to strict disease prevention protocols, with rigorous cleaning practices in place. We’re not vets, but our team is certified in infectious disease prevention for group dog settings. We do everything we can to keep our facilities safe and sanitary, and we genuinely want to avoid illness, both for your pups and our team.
Why Socialization Still Matters
Daycare is all about providing a stimulating, social, and active environment for your dog, and occasional URIs can be a part of that experience. We’re committed to ensuring a safe, fun place for your pup to play, learn, and thrive!
Thank you for helping us keep our pack healthy!
